Fuel Policy
When planning your trip, please consider fuel charges as they are not included in the reservation price.
Palm Harbor Charters offers prepaid fuel during the checkout process of your reservation.
If this option is not selected during checkout, the fuel policy below will apply.
All bookings start with a full tank of gas. Upon returning to the marina, guests will be responsible for the cost of the fuel used for their booking. This cost will vary depending on the length of the trip and the distance the vessel has covered. We ask that the fuel cost be paid in cash at the end of the reservation. If this fee is not paid upon return, we will deduct this fee from your booking deposit.
To calculate fuel Usage: Rentals
With ideal boating conditions, you can expect 5 gallons (at 5000rpm) of fuel to be used per hour (or) 4.12 gallons of fuel per mile.
The current cost per gallon of fuel averages $4.00.
Example: If your trip (moving time lasts 2 hours) you could estimate the fuel costs to be (2hours X 5 gallons) X $4.00 = $40.00
To calculate fuel Usage: Boat Charter
With ideal boating conditions, you can expect 30 gallons of fuel to be used per hour (or) 3.2 gallons of fuel per mile.
The current cost per gallon of fuel averages $4.00.
Example: If your trip (moving time lasts 2 hours) you could estimate the fuel costs to be (2hours X 30 gallons) X $4.00 = $240.00
